GratEX® FRP SOLUTIONS IN MILK PROCESSING PLANT
This milk processing plant was expanding their operations and started with a course of rebuilding and refurbishing to increase their level of operations. Treadwell’s FRP grating panels and stair treads were specified for this expansion.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESISTANCE: HOW FRP STANDS UP TO HARSH CONDITIONS
Being an outdoor installation, corrosion resistance was a key consideration. One of the standout features of FRP is its exceptional resistance to harsh environmental conditions. This structure would be exposed to a variety of environmental stressors, including high humidity, fluctuating temperatures, UB exposure, and rain. These conditions can lead to rapid deterioration of conventional materials, resulting in increased maintenance costs and downtime.
FRP, however, is inherently resistant to moisture and temperature extremes. Unlike metals that can rust or warp when exposed to water and heat, FRP maintains its structural integrity, ensuring long-term performance. This resistance to environmental factors reduces the frequency of repairs and replacements, thereby lowering operational costs and minimizing disruptions in the production process.
CUSTOMISATION OPTIONS: THE UNIQUE BENEFITS OF CHOOSING FRP
Another significant advantage of FRP is its versatility and customization options. FRP can be manufactured in various shapes, sizes, and colours to meet the specific needs of any application. This allows for the creation of custom solutions that enhance both functionality and aesthetics. Treadwell FRP products have the colour pigment integrated into the substrate, resulting in a consistent colour throughout the substrate, without the need for regular painting, or chipped and exposed sections.
The client opted for an uncommon blue colour for the grating, which added a unique aesthetic appeal. This project highlights how FRP can be tailored to meet specific requirements while offering superior resistance to environmental factors.
