Koorangang Island, NSW – Operating on Koorangang Island, this company is a leading integrated manufacturer and distributor of fertilisers across the east coast of Australia. Their products support farming communities, which in turn feed millions around the globe.
Their facility in Koorangang had an access platform to transfer their pallets. Corrosion had set in, and deteriorated the structure beyond repair. A new structure was needed to allow for safe access for their personnel. Treadwell was engaged by Programmed Industrial to design and supply the FRP solution for this new structure.
Project Challenges
- The separate platform for pallets needed to be easily removable for repair and maintenance activities.
- The base plates of the platform needed to be on the inside of the frame to minimise trip risks.
- Structure needed to be able to handle loads of up to 1.2 tonnes.
- Corrosion was a key concern.
