MODULE 3 – SITE RULES
SAFETY RULES
Safety rules must be followed to ensure the safety of worker’s duties, which includes any other person affected by Company operations. Any non-routine work to be performed outside of normal operating hours (7 AM – 5 PM) will require approval from your Supervisor and Senior Management.
Plant Safety
- Never operate machinery for which you have not been instructed and never without the approval of your supervisor.
- Never run, do not throw things, no horseplay (rough or rude play) or practical jokes.
Fatigue Management
- You must be in a state (physical, mental and emotional) which enables you to perform your task competently and in a safe manner.
Theft or Misappropriation
- Is a chargeable criminal offence and as such, if theft or misappropriation occurs, the relevant authorities will be contacted for investigation. All vehicles leaving Treadwell’s site are subject to inspection by a WHS Officer or Human Resources Department
SAFETY RULES
Drugs and Alcohol
- The Company has a zero tolerance approach towards the presence of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
- The Company may perform drug and alcohol testing randomly. Any worker who refuses to undergo drug and alcohol testing will be stood down without pay and may receive up to instant dismissal.
- If a worker tests non-negative, a worker will receive disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Smoking
- Smoking is not permitted on any Company premise.
- Smoking is allowed in designated areas (off-site) and only during a worker’s break time.
- Smoking areas will be shown during the site induction.
Each person has a moral and legal obligation for safety and the safety of others in the workplace.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL
Rubbish has the potential to reach our waterway which pollutes our environment. Waste disposal shall be as per EPA requirements and licensing agreements.
- No waste products / pollutants, such as oils, chemicals, substances or powders are to be emptied in drains or onto any area so that it could be washed down the drainage system.
- You must always dispose of rubbish, including cigarette butts and hearing protection in approved bins.
- Treadwell Group strives to reduce its impact to the environment by reducing the amount of waste generated to landfill.
- Our sites have a waste management system in place. These include bins for landfill, compost and recycling purposes.
- Our sites have a recycling program to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill with recycling bins for all recyclable materials.
It is the responsibility of all workers to dispose of pollutants in the correct manner.
TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
Vehicle Access
- Workers are permitted to park in the designated parking area.
Site Speed Limits
- All speed limits posted throughout the sites shall be adhered to. Treadwell Group site is 5 kmph, unless stated otherwise. Workers must exercise courtesy and care at all times.
Company Vehicles
- Company vehicles can only be operated by licensed drivers who have Management authority to do so and have signed and acknowledged the Treadwell Company Vehicle Policy.
Company Vehicles
- Vehicles including trucks, cars, forklifts and other mobile vehicles are site risks to pedestrians.
- Workers must use walkways where marked at all practicable times.
