Under the WHS Act 2012 (SA) employers have a primary duty to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the health and safety of workers is not put at risk from the conduct of the business or undertaking.

This means that employers have an obligation to ensure workers are safe from risks which are present in the workplace.

However, all workers must also take reasonable care for their own health and safety and for the people around them, including to not put another persons health and safety at risk.
